Information
Using Boxes(dot)PY, I created a simple box with a sliding lid. I've made variations of this and added designs to perforate the box to use it as a fragrance distributor (load it with cedar shavings and it smells nice)

Step1: Instructions
  1. Start with Boxes py (Google to find it) and make a simple box
  2. Do an engraving Test Grid to determine parameters to achieve good consistent depth for the rails
  3. Create engrave rectangles for the rails (in red for this example)
  4. Align them on 3 sides
  5. Lower the front of the box to clear the lid
  6. Assemble the box
  7. Measured in the 'rails' with a micrometer to determine width of lid
  8. Create a rectangle and set your sizes from the micrometer
  9. Add a thumb grab to the lid (engraving)

Assemble and test slide
Adjust as necessary
A little sandpaper can tweak it.
Prep and glue your final box
