Step1: Load Your Design

Start by importing your Halloween sign design into the xTool software. You can use a ready-made 'Trick or Treat' template or create your own spooky elements like ghosts, pumpkins, or bats. This is where you can customize the sign with your favorite Halloween designs, adding a personal and eerie touch to your project.

You can check out the video above to see how I created the design.

Configure the xTool M1 settings to suit your cardboard material. You’ll need to set up three layers: one for engraving any detailed designs, another for cutting out the sign from the cardboard, and a third for scoring decorative lines. Be sure to check the power and speed settings for cutting cardboard, as it’s a flammable material. Always monitor the machine carefully while it's working. ⚠️ Safety Tip: Keep an eye on the machine when cutting cardboard and have a fire extinguisher nearby.

Step3: Painting and Assembly

Once your sign is cut and engraved, it’s time to get creative! Use acrylic paint to decorate your sign in Halloween-themed colors like orange, black, and purple. After the paint has fully dried, use strong glue to attach any additional pieces or embellishments. If your design has layers or raised elements, glue them carefully to ensure everything stays secure.

Step4: Display Your Halloween Sign

After everything is assembled and dried, admire your spooky Halloween creation! Hang or display your 'Trick or Treat' sign where it’s sure to catch attention—whether it's on your front door or as part of your Halloween decorations. Your custom sign is perfect for welcoming trick-or-treaters or adding a festive touch to your home!
