place the leaves on the work surface
adjust them to the size you need
if you mark everything, you can make it bigger or smaller together
put everything together the way you want it later to get a feel for it
 

look at the leaves 
i have also added a bead that i paint with a similar color
 

glue the small leaves to the edge
here i have rotated them all a little to get some variation
 

take a string and put it through the large leaf
push the bead onto the string
put one part of the string through the hole at the front and the other through the hole at the back
guide both upwards and tie a knot in them to hang them up
