Step5: Prepare image for laser engraving by dithering it in your preferred image adjustment software (I use imag-r and follow their listed steps in order)

A) Drag and drop image into imag-r

B) Crop the section of the image that you wish to engrave ( in this case I used square crop)

C) Adjust image size to .01 larger than what the material size actually is (this will give you some room to make sure that you engrave the entire piece)

•In this screen you will also set your dpi to 318 for the 5w and 10w

D) Next select the material button then select Norton white tile painted black (this is going to dither your image)

E) Last is to download the Image as your preferred file type (i typically download as a .PNG)

6
Step6: Import into your laser software

Import the image you just prepared into your laser software and set the layer settings (in lightburn it's important to use passthrough)
