Military Going-Away Gift

      First project to get my feet wet. The M1 has been excellent so far. I was able to cut basswood 3mm plywood to get the shapes and then engrave an aluminum business card for the faceplate. I got the plaque from Micheals for $5 and then stained it. Personally, I did not love how red the stain turned out, but it complimented the golden face plate.

For the leather patch, I had to do some trial and error and play with the settings to get the right "look". My first patch was too light and, when stained did not have a good contrast between the lettering and backing.
