For this Halloween Project I challenged myself to only use XCS to create a decor piece. No Illustrator usage.

So I wanted I magnetic piece that should cover up the magnetic bar.

  1. Draw rectangle for size you need to cover up
  2. Choose blood from the library for the bottom line and if one doenst fit all merge more together
  3. Create the topline thats wavy. I also used for simplicitiy the blood pieces.
  4. Select all Blood pieces and rectangle and creat one solid shape of it
  5. If needed go into path editing and make some points more curvy to get rid of straight lines
  6. Delete all drops below the blood (or keep if you want to attach them with string or anything else)

Now its time to look into the library and choose pieces that can fit great together to create a scene. I set all parts to engraving to show myself the different layers:

Red = Base

Orange = Behind Red

Blue = On top

In this step you can choose as much as you like and depending on your base width.

I you want you can paint the parts now. I wouldn't do it after assembly bc you need to be more careful.

If you may use acrylic in fitting colors already this step isnt neccessary.

As I already mentioned the layers you can easily follow that:

  1. Glue Orange layer piece to back of red (just tiny overlap)
  2. Glue Magnets on the same backside of red
  3. Finally add the blue peices on the front

Step6: Final Decor Piece

And thats how you can easily create you own halloween decor scene. The xTool Library is great for this project as it already provides great illustrations.

I hope you liked this project and it sparks some creativity for you! ~Anzy
