This simple storage box is the perfect size for most pens and pencils. It features unique engraving and a sliding lid that can not be fully removed. This project requires 4mm thick material.
This design starts as a simple box with slots cut along the top edge of the long sides to allow the lid to slide.
I included some engraved text on the side and a pencil image on the top but these can be deleted or changed for a more personal design if wanted.
I used the above settings for cutting and engraving 4mm MDF using the xTool D1 Pro 5w.
These settings should be used as a guide and will need to be adjusted for other machines and materials.
First you should attach one of the long sides to the bottom section, using wood glue for extra strength if necessary.
Next, you should attach both of the short end pieces in the same way as the first long side in the previous step.
The top should be added before the final side piece to allow you to slot the tabs onto the side slots.
Now it is time to add the final side piece and your project is complete.
