Information
I always liked the look of pinned and framed butterflies and wanted to create my own wall of butterflies out of paper. This one was inspired by the Alpine Black Swallowtail butterfly and I used metallic papers so they imitate the real wings' iridescent nature. The butterfly can be showcased on the wall in itself or in the picture frame I designed, or placed on a flat surface like a shelf or table.

  1. Engrave and cut every piece. I marked the engraving with black and the cutting parts with green line in my files. (If you don't need the frame  don't cut out the two bottom objects in the files!)
  2. With the help of a thicker marker or pen, shape the wings.
  3. Glue together the two top bottom and top wings with glue gun in the middle.
  4. Glue to bottom and top wings together.
  5. Glue on the metallic body on top and the matte black with the antennas on the bottom.
  6. Glue the hanger piece on the bootom.
  7. Fold and glue together the double wall frame.
  8. With the help of the hanger piece put the butterfly in the frame.
