Step1: House
Preview
  1. create a rectangle - select edit node
  2. create a node in the center
  3. select the node and move it to the top

(on the keyboard you can use the arrow keys, it is advantageous to hold the Shift key to make larger jumps)

Step2: Heart & roof
Preview

insert a heart from XCS
edit this as you like me Edit node

For the roof you can just put 2 rectangles on top of each other

Step3: Assemble
Preview

add the symbols from XCS
arrange everything around the house

think about what should be at the front
here it is the pumpkin
then select everything behind it 
unite it
and with the pumpkin choose substract

Step4: Laser

I use my own wooden coasters here 
here i used the default setting of XCS for wood coaster - but i reduced the power by 10 because my wood is very soft
