Determine the dimensions you will need for the box.

Go to online box maker such as boxes.py. https://www.festi.info/boxes.py/

Select the Simple Box

Add your dimensions (I made mine at 120.2 mm x 120.2 mm x 134.2mm)

I selected Finger joints opposing sides

Thickness 3mm (you can change this to whatever size wood you are using)

Select the format ( I like mine in SVG)

Do not need tabs or bridges

Do not need QR Code

No labels

Change Inner corners to Corners

Burn 0.1 for a tight fit

Then click the download button and save the SVG.

Now that you have the downloaded file saved as an SVG you can now import it into either Lightburn or XCS

My choice is Lightburn . I have included the SVG so you can use in either as well as the Lightburn file.

Once the file is open, you can add a design if you want or just do a plain box. I have done both . You can also cut out some wood designs and attach to the box if you like. I am thinking about doing a Dodgers one and just attaching the cut-out to the box since I am a great Dodger fan Sadly you may need to use some adhesive for this.

Once you have your design or no design, you are ready to cut out the pieces. I am using the D1 Pro 20 watt and my settings were set to cut at 420/80 mm.min and to engrave at 3500/70 mm/min

Keep in mind that you may need two pieces if you are using a regular 12x12 piece of wood. If you have a longer piece then you will not need two.

Now That all the pieces are cut you should find that this is a pretty snug fit. I used a small rubber mallet and tapped the pieces lightly into place.

I have not yet done this, but can add a little bees wax to the box and it will give it a whole new look. (just ran out and order coming tomorrow. I can upload the images once I have it applied to the tissue box.)
