Small little birds frequent our yard and my wife loves little bird houses so here is one the has an owl on the front.
Step 1) The first thing was to create a small box with key slots for strength, this was sized exactly for 3mm wood. The Kerf feature was used to fine point the fit so it almost snapped together without glue. I did use glue anyway just so it stayed together properly. The Kerf was set to have an 0.32mm offset outward making the slots larger.
Step 2) Now that the box for the house was ready the front was made. This was in the shape of an owl. all the pieces were separate by using an SVG file. The backing doe this had the hole set to match the hole in the box.
Step 3) Now that the software was all ready to go the wood was placed in the laser machine. Using the M1 Ultra 20w the cutting was clean and fast. Once all the pieces were cut the box was glued together and then the front face was added. This all went together with paint afterwards.
