Use my file, and cut out the shapes. 

(If you want, you can put a small hole at the top; I liked it in this way more)

Choose some nice colors to paint it out. I like brown-ish colors, so choose brown and orange.

Also, I suggest to paint the back side also, it will look more nice.

Add varnish to both sides, aside and the middle to make it waterproff and longlasting.

Add earring settings, and you are done.
