First thing you would want to do is measure your board to see how much space you are working with. I went with 200mm x 65mm.You can adjust the size of the file based on this dimension.

Next in lightburn you will want to make your design. My kid loves dinosaurs, so I added dinosaur vector files but those can be replaced with anything really. I put in 2 and mirrored one with the mirror tool and this allows you to bookend the sign. On the sign you are going to need 2 layers. One will be for engraving and one will be for cutting.

I used the blue dot in the text to curve the text.

You will engrave the sign blank with the name and the design. I set this to 100 mm/sec at 50% power

The other will be a cut out of 3 mm plywood for just the dinosaurs. I set this to 10 mm/sec at 90% power

I have included the lightburn file.

It is important that you hide the layer that you are not doing at the moment. You can do this by just flicking the output button on the layer off and this will ignore that layer.

After you have etched your sign and cut out the extra figures, test fit them on the board. They should fit perfectly.

Next it will be time to paint the dinosaurs. I put them on the sticky side of some painters tape(this keeps them from getting blown around while spraying them) and then tape that to some brown paper I have. I used this green camo spray paint to spray them. Let dry.

While the paint on the dino is drying you can stain your sign. This part is totally optional and you can do it however you like. I wanted to keep a lighter look so I went with this weathered oak stain.

Once both have dried, you can glue on the dinos to the sign. I chose super glue but you can use wood glue too. Once glued down you will need to either clamp it or hold it in place for a few mins for the glue to set up.
