Information
This desk lamp is made from 3 and 4mm thick material and can be made from any colour to match perfectly with your room.

I used black and orange glossy acrylic with two black slats for each orange one.

To complete the project you will need:
- 3mm material for the slats
- 4mm material for the circular supports
- light fitting with wire
- light bulb

Step1: Design
Preview

Before you begin cutting any of the parts you should measure your light fitting as the design might need some small adjustments.

If you have a calliper available use this to measure the diameter of the screw on section at the top of your light fitting. A ruler or tape measure will also be ok but more difficult to get an accurate measurement.

After measuring, make the smallest internal circle (highlighted in the picture above) around 0.5mm larger than your measurement.

Step2: Cutting

Now that your design is ready, all of your parts can be cut from your chosen material.

The slats should be cut from 3mm material and the circles cut from 4mm material.

The settings above are for 3mm black and orange acrylic and 4mm plywood.

Step3: Assembling

The assembly process for this lamp is simple but takes some time.

Start by laying out all of the slats in size order, this will make it much easier to attach them all correctly during assembly.

Next, attach the longest slat to both of the circles by aligning the pre-cut slots.

Now that you have one slat in place all remaining slats should easily slot into place.

Finally, attach your light fitting and bulb then your lamp is complete.
