The shrine replicates the incense offering ceremony from the game, but it houses the "Victorious Fighting Buddha." According to legend, after Sun Wukong attained enlightenment and became a Buddha, everyone worshipped him. However, did Wukong truly desire to become a Buddha? He could have roamed freely in the world, but was bound by the magical headband, under the guise of cultivating the Dao. Thus, the true Sun Wukong—a free spirit, unbound by "deity" constraints—is hidden behind the shrine.
