Information
This Tiger Automaton was super fun to make. It has a realistic walking motion when you turn the crank. All parts were made out of basswood with my XTool Laser. I was excited to find Ross McSweeney on Etsy. He has lots of cool automatons. I first bought the horse, but that one seemed a bit complicated with a 100 page instructions to start with so I went with this Tiger which was still pretty challenging, but doable in a weekend. He even redesigned the files for me to fit on the 12"X12" 3mm thick basswood that I got from Amazon. He provides a nice calibration file so that you can scale the file to make sure everything fits snugly. I didn't end up gluing it together as he recommends, but it still works though it falls apart if you are too rough with it. But, that's half the fun to re-assemble it.

Check Ross McSweeney's other files out too. He keeps making new ones.
