I have made picture frame stands before but this new angled version is also great for holding plates/plaques or anything else you might want to display. To make this stand you will need 4mm thick material.
This is a simple design featuring 2 main parts of the stand and 3 small support brackets that hold the stand together securely at an angle.
The size of the front of the stand could be adjusted using the edit note tool in XCS to allow for thicker pictures/plates. To do this you would need to select all nodes in the front ‘hook’ part and move them forward while being careful not to move them up or down. You can use the arrow keys to do this more accurately than a mouse.
These are the settings used to cut 4mm MDF using the xTool D1 Pro 5w laser.
When assembling your stand the 3 small bracket pieces should slot easily but tightly into place. You can add some glue into the slots if needed, although this shouldn't be needed if your material is 4mm thick.
