Sounds confusing? Let me explain...
I mainly use 18mm thickness in Wood for my Stringart I create as sidehustle. Therefore one main reason for the Riser base was to easily engrave the backside to add more branding or authentifications for original art.
So I finally bought the Riserbase with honeycomb and really quickly found out using the highest spot wont work and the 2nd height is too low to reach for the laser…
Heavy frustated I was annoyed and was very disapointed in the riser and honeycomb (even that it shrinks your max workarea).
So I finally got the idea of the risers for the riser base.
I mean if you watch closely, it's kinda like a 2nd honeycomb on top.
As I dont want to use different sizes of wood blocks on it I created it with a base lenght of 25cm and making it to combine with more ore less pieces.
I meassured the height I needed to reach atleast the 0 line for the laserbeam. For me with the wood thats around 40mm.
Now duplicate the pieces as often as you need them.
Easy cutting job, I would suggest using at least 3mm plywood
After cutting, only thing is left is to slide the parts into each other. There are severel posibilities but I figured I like the XX version the most and it fits perfectly on the honeycomb.
I hope this helps others as well that might had the same disappointmend with the riser base.
Have fun engraving smaller pieces without any trouble or servel stackings! ~Anzy
