Set-up the rotary tool per the instruction book that came with it.
So you can see this setup better, I have assembled it on my workbench - see photo.
I have the chuck set-up and have secured the tumbler to the RA2 Pro using the chuck key to tighten. Use the level to make sure you tumbler is level.
Open the M1 and turn off and disconnect the air assist.
Place the RA2 Pro into the M1 making sure the red dot hits the highest part of the tumbler. This picture illustrates how the RA2 Pro should look inside the M1
Attach the cable to the RA2 Pro unit and plug the other end into the back of the M1 unit.
Choose Stainless Steel Coffee Tumbler from the materials list.
Mode: - Use rotary attachment and select “Chuck”
Enter the Diameter, hit enter, the Perimeter will automatically update.
Perform the auto measure.
Choose your settings, mine are listed above. Depending on your tumbler and its coating, your settings may be different from the ones I’ve chosen.
Select the butterfly and the text and choose “unite” from the “Combine” menu.
Resize the image to a width of 3”, height will automatically update.
Rotate the image 180 degrees.
Place the image so that it almost hits the green line.
Run the “framing” feature, and send to the laser for processing.
The first picture show how the tumbler looks when finish engraving, it looks a bit burt, but don't worry it will look different once cleaned.
Remove from the RA2 Pro and take to the sink. I used regular Dawn dishwash soap and a toothbrush, gave the tumbler a good scrub, rinsed with water and dried with a towel, and it turned out fantastic!
