Instruction

Step1: Prepare the Materials

For this project, gather the following materials:

  • Basswood Sheet: I used 2mm basswood, but I recommend using at least 3mm for added sturdiness.
  • Wood Glue or Strong Adhesive: To securely attach the pieces.
  • Acrylic Paint (optional): If you want to add a splash of color, especially to the apple design.

Before you begin, ensure that you have all the materials ready and your workspace is clean and organized for easy access to everything you need.

Step2: Engrave and Cut Your Project

Check the Framing:

Before processing your project, always check the framing to ensure the designs are aligned correctly. Place your basswood on the machine bed and use the laser pointer or frame feature in xTool Creative Space to verify that everything is in the correct position.

Process Your Project:

Once you have confirmed the framing, proceed with processing your project in xTool Creative Space. (First will engrave and then cut the designs)

Follow the standard safety precautions while operating the xTool machine, and keep an eye on the progress to ensure optimal results.

Step3: Assembling the Project

Reinforce the Base:

To enhance the stability of your sign, cut two identical bases from the basswood. Using two bases will provide a sturdy foundation for your project.

Glue the Bases Together: Apply a generous amount of wood glue or a strong adhesive to one of the bases. Carefully align the second base on top of the first one, ensuring that all edges and corners are perfectly matched. Press the two bases together firmly and allow them to dry completely before proceeding.

Attach the Apple Frame to the Base:

Glue the Frame to the Base: Apply wood glue or a strong adhesive to the bottom edge of the frame where it will connect to the bases. Carefully align the frame with the center of the double base, ensuring it stands upright and is positioned as desired.

Allow to Dry: Once everything is properly aligned, press the frame onto the bases, ensuring a secure fit. Hold it in place for a few moments to ensure the glue starts to set. Allow the entire project to dry completely for the recommended time on the adhesive’s instructions.

Hope you enjoy this project!
