This design starts as a simple storage tub with curved corners on the front and back, then the peeking cat head is added to the back panel and paws are added to the front panel.

Extra engraving details can easily be added to the front such as a name or message to add a more personal touch.

There are only 5 parts in total for this project making the cutting process relatively fast. The above settings were used to cut and engrave 4mm MDF using the xTook D1 Pro 5w laser, other machines may be able to use fewer passes to cut the same material.

I used 2 sheets of A4 sized wood and had a little to spare.

Assembling this box is easy and should only take a few minutes.

Start by slotting the 2 square sides into the cat head back panel. Once these are securely in place, the front panel should easily slot into place and finally you can attach the bottom.

Depending on your material all parts may be a tight and secure fit but I would recommend adding a little wood glue to each part during the assembly process.
