This is a multi-layered beach-themed coaster that I designed for summer. 116/312
The first step was making the ring of the coaster. This involved creating two circles: one big and one small. Then, I added a design I liked, which is a palm tree, followed by the text and font I wanted to use.
Now comes the harder part of making the design. You will need to create small shapes that will connect the text to the outside of the coaster. This will make it easier to glue and more sturdy.
For this, I used a piece of basswood and a piece of walnut. The top was walnut, and the bottom was basswood.
Now it's laser time! This is a two-canvas project, and each one has its own material. If you use a different material, you will need to change your settings. These settings are for an S1 40-watt laser. Don't forget your laser safety glasses.
For this, you just need to glue the top to the bottom. Once it's glued, make sure to let it dry completely, and then you're good to go.
Good job! You're done with your laser-cut wooden coaster.
