This ruler is made for a child who loves summer and the beach, and he wanted to make it out of wood with designs that he liked. Among the various designs I made for him, this was the one he liked the most.
In this process, I started by designing the ruler, generally the rules are totally rectangular, but to make it different I added a curve, after that I added the measurement lines in mm and cm, after finishing it I added the word summer and the figure of a palm so that it would be associated with the word theme of this ruler.
I decided to use a scrap of wood that I had left, since the ruler is 20.5 cm in that work space I could do it, at first I decided to paint it with white spray, I waited for it to dry, I placed it and arranged it on the work table
Once the wood was ready, I set the parameters and started the work.
After engraving and cutting, this is the final result. I like to work the wood before cutting it to avoid having to paint or to make the engraving less noticeable.
