Step1: Check materials
Preview

Unbox to check all the provided materials. The following materials should be included for this project:

Wooden pillar for table lamp × 1

Wooden cover for table lamp × 2

Milky translucent polypropylene sheet × 1

Leather drawer pull × 1

RGB LED strip × 1

RGB LED controller × 1

IR remote control × 1

Super glue × 1

Cable clamp × 1

Nut × 1

Long screw × 1

Short screw × 1

Step2: Preparations

  1. Turn on M1 Ultra and connect it to your computer.
  2. Open the xTool Creative Space (XCS) software and connect your M1 Ultra on XCS.
  3. Open the "Rose Patterned Table Lamp.xcs" file. Ensure that the processing parameters are as provided above.
  4. Prepare the milky translucent polypropylene sheet.
  5. Open the lid of M1 Ultra and place the FabricGrip cutting mat into M1 Ultra.
  6. Secure the milky translucent polypropylene sheet on the cutting mat by applying masking tape around its edges and in the middle.
  7. Check whether the blade is the fine-point blade, and if it isn't, change it to the fine-point blade.
  8. Close the lid of M1 Ultra.

Step3: Blade cut the milky translucent polypropylene sheet

  1. Select Process on XCS.
  2. Press the Start/Stop button on M1 Ultra to start blade cutting.
  3. After the blade has finished cutting, remove the rose pattern and outer layer of the lampshade from M1 Ultra, and peel off the masking tape from them.

Note: Masking tape is not provided, so get it ready before blade cutting. To prevent the milky translucent polypropylene sheet from shifting during the cutting process, secure the edges of the sheet with masking tape.

Step4: Shape the lampshade's inner layer into a cylinder

Align each scalloped edge with the corresponding slit on the opposite end of the rose pattern and insert it as illustrated.

Step6: Assemble the lampshade

Place the assembled rose pattern into the lampshade's outer layer as illustrated.

  1.  Unroll the RGB LED strip from the reel and peel off the adhesive backing.
  2.  Wrap the RGB LED strip around the wooden pillar. Start the wrapping from the pillar's end without holes.

  1. Use the wooden cover with a notch as illustrated as the base cover of the table lamp.
  2. Place the assembled wooden pillar onto the middle of the base as illustrated, aligning the hole at the bottom of the pillar with that on the base. Insert the long screw into the hole at the back of the base. Secure the assembly by tightening the screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
  3. Remove a cable clamp from its packaging, peel off the adhesive backing, and secure the cable clamp on the base, adjacent to the end of the RGB LED strip as illustrated.
  4. Lead the end of the RGB LED strip through the cable clamp. Press down the cable clamp to close it. Then guide the end of the RGB LED strip into the notch.

  Notes:

  1. It is recommended that you attach the cable clamp to the vicinity of the notch on the base.
  2. Avoid attaching the cable clamp to the circular grooves.
  3. The attaching range should not exceed the green dashed circle as illustrated.

Step9: Assemble the top cover

  1. Align the holes of the leather drawer pull at both ends as illustrated.
  2. Gently pinch the leather drawer pull, and place it on the wooden cover as illustrated. Ensure that the holes of the leather drawer pull align with that on the cover.
  3. Pass the nut through the holes of the leather drawer pull and the hole on the cover, and gently press and hold the nut.
  4. Turn over the cover.
  5. Fasten the short screw into the nut using a Phillips screwdriver.

  1. Gently place the lampshade into the outer circular groove of the base as illustrated.
  2. Apply super glue near the center of the top cover.
  3. Place the top cover on the lampshade, aligning the center of the cover with the lamppost and the lampshade with the outer circular groove of the top cover. Once the top cover is in place, apply firm pressure on the top cover for 15 seconds to ensure a strong bond.

Caution: Ensure that the lampshade is properly aligned with the outer circular groove of the top cover before applying firm pressure on the top cover. Otherwise, the lampshade may be deformed.

Step11: Connect to a power supply

  1. Attach the RGB LED strip to the RGB LED controller as illustrated.
  2. Plug the USB connector of the RGB LED controller into a power supply.
  3. Turn on the IR remote control.
