A gift for a newborn baby girl. The subject is a "little girl and her teddy bear". The first name and date of birth appear on the woodcut, along with a butterfly / bowtie. A traditional needlepoint embroidery on canvas is framed by the wood coated with white wax.

Un cadeaux pour un bébé fille qui vient de naitre. Le thème est une "petite fille et son nounours". Le prénom et la date de naissance apparaissent sur la gravure sur bois, ainsi qu'un noeud papillon. Une broderie au point traditionnel sur toile est encadrée par le bois cérusé en blanc.
The difficulty is that the butterfly/bowtie, which is a pixel image and not a vector image, overlaps with the vector cut line of the frame. It is necessary to draw a vector outline that encloses the butterfly (but not entirely, just the top part). This being difficult in the Xtool Creative Space software, I had to go to another software NanoCad (free license in 2D).
Once the vector outline of the upper part of the butterfly/bowtie was drawn, I imported it into Xtool Creative Space via a .DXF export file.
Then, I kept the butterfly/bowtie image to be able to engrave the patterns of the original image on the wood.
Before engraving, I coated the plywood board with white wax (except the part where the butterfly will be engraved), then I polished it with a wool cloth. If you coat the wood after laser engraving, the black engraving will become white like the wax and there will be no black versus white color contrast
There is the phase of engraving of the butterfly/bowtie, then the phase of cutting of the outer frame and the inner oval part.
Once cut, sand the edges of the wood to remove the black created by the burning of wood to not dirty the embroidery.
For the assembly of the embroidery and the frame, it is necessary to stretch the fabric on the oval part, but before it is necessary to put under the embroidery a CraftFoam to give relief to the embroidery.
Use white wood glue to glue at the back side, the edges of the embroidery on the cutting line of the oval part, on both sides of the edges . Once the glue is dry, use a cutter to cut the excess fabric.
You can engrave on the back of the frame, the name of the artists who made this gift: My wife for the embroidery and myself for the engraving and cutting of the frame on the XTOOL M1 laser machine and the assembly / bonding
A natural string will be more vintage to hang the frame on the wall by passing it through the small hole above the butterfly and making a double knot to lock it.

La difficulté est que le papillon qui est une image en pixel et pas vectorielle, qui dépasse du cadre et se superpose à la ligne vectorielle de découpe du cadre. Il est nécessaire de dessiner un contour vectoriel qui englobe le papillon (mais pas entièrement, juste la partie haute). Ceci étant difficile dans le logiciel Xtool Creative Space, j'ai dû aller dans un autre logiciel NanoCad (licence gratuite en 2 D).
Une fois le contour vectoriel dessiné de la partie haute du papillon, je l'ai importé dans Xtool Creative Space via un fichier export .DXF.
Ensuite, j'ai conservé l'image du papillon pour pouvoir graver les motifs de l'image d'origine sur le bois.
Avant de procéder à la gravure, j'ai enduit la planche de contreplaqué de cire blanche à céruser (sauf la partie où sera gravée le papillon), puis je l'ai lustrée avec un chiffon de laine. Si vous enduisez le bois avec la cire blanche après la gravure laser, la gravure noire deviendra blanche comme la cire et il n'y aura pas de contraste de couleur, noir versus blanc.
Il y a la phase de gravage du papillon, puis la phase de découpage du cadre extrérieur et de la partie ovale intérieure.
Une fois découpé, poncez les bords du bois pour éliminer le noir créé par la brulure du bois pour ne pas salir la broderie.
Pour l'assemblage de la broderie et du cadre, il faut bien tendre la toile sur la partie ovale, mais avant il faut mettre sous la broderie un matelas de ouate ou de mousse synthétique pour donner du relief à la broderie.
Utiliser de la colle à bois blanche pour coller les bords de la broderie sur la ligne de découpe de la partie ovale, sur la face arrière, de part et d'autre. Une fois que la colle est sèche, utilisez un cutter pour couper l'exédent de tissus.
Vous pouvez graver sur la face arrière du cadre, le nom des artistes qui ont fabriqué ce cadeau: Mon épouse pour la broderie et moi même pour la gravure et le découpage du cadre sur la machine laser XTOOL M1 et l'assemblage / collage.
Une ficelle naturelle fera plus vintage pour suspendre le cadre au mur en la passant par le petit trou au dessus du papillon et en faisant un double noeud pour la bloquer.
