This heart puzzle can be used perfectly as a guest book at the wedding! The names of the guests or family can be written on the individual puzzle pieces around the two small hearts.
This wedding gift was an order. The number of puzzle pieces was predetermined. In Sketchup Make you can customize the pieces perfectly. If you need more puzzle pieces (more guests / family members), you can also add lines in XTool Creative Space! After the 3D design and laying out as 2D lines, I can then export a DXF from Sketchup.
In XTool Creative Space you can now customize the text on the two small hearts. Of course, you can also engrave the names of the guests or family. For my order, however, I should leave these parts blank, so you can write on the wood with a pen! I used 5mm wood for the heart because it is relatively stable, but you can also use 3mm materials! I then cut out the puzzle using the above settings.
In the final step, I painted the two hearts with red spray paint. Any other color can be used here, of course. It would also be possible to cut and paint the two small hearts first and then engrave the names. Then you have a little more contrast between the text and the heart.
Assembly is really easy. The edge of the puzzle must be glued precisely onto the large heart, the rest of the puzzle remains loose. The two parts for the holder can simply be stuck together.
Have fun with this gift!
