Load your file and customize the text above and below the bald eagle and flag.
After customizing the text, select it and use the “Weld” feature to combine the text.
Align the text where you want it placed.
Group the items to ensure you don’t lose any positioning.
Select the “Engrave” option.
Select everything (images and text). Click the “Outline” option and set a border distance. I chose 1.6 to ensure that the image was connected to the text.
Create a border around all objects.

Step2: Select Materials and Engrave
Preview
Select your materials. I chose a basswood ply for the lettering and eagle, and a walnut ply to provide a nice contrast.
Load your material, set your focus, mark your area, and run the file (engrave and cut).

Step3: Finishing Touches

Remove the material from your laser. Inspect it for residue.
Clean and provide a light sanding to remove any laser markings.
Glue the two pieces together.
Apply a water-based polyurethane to seal the project and to add a bit of sheen to it.
Because it is very light, you can use double-sided foam tape to hang.
Enjoy! This project combines patriotism with personalization, making it an ideal gift or decor piece for anyone who values craftsmanship and national pride.
