Celebrate the warm weather, beach trips, and splashing in the pool with this project. You can use it as a wall decoration, shelf or table accent, or even a door hanger. The elements of the design are easy to scale. Just type in your desired dimensions and let the xTool laser do the magic.
The elements of this file is set up to be sized as needed. I have them set up as 6 inch diameter, but you can scale these for your machine or project idea. To resize, simply select the circle and enter the desired diameter in the H and W properties.
The settings are for the D1 5W laser. You may need to adjust the settings for your laser configuration.
Be sure to follow all the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
Once the laser is done working, Remove all parts from the plywood stock. I like to arrange mine so that I can get a sense of how I want to align the parts in the final design.
The next step is to apply color to the parts. You can choose any combination of colors and stains. I chose to stain the backing piece and paint the letters. I left the middle layer natural wood color.
To wrap up the project add a very small amount of wood glue to the back of each part. I just smear a little bit of glue as it doesn't take much and I want to prevent any glue from squeezing out. If you do get some glue that squeezes out, just use a damp rang or sponge to wipe it away as soon as possible.
