these picture frames a design for 6x4inch photographs and are made from cherry and oak veneered MDF using kerf offset to fit together tightly with no visible gaps. The file also includes a stand to display your frames on a table or shelf. To make these frames you will need 2 colours of 4mm thick material, glue, and a 6x4 inch piece of thin (around 1mm) clear acrylic.
These frames have a two part design with a wavy line to separate the join between two different materials. This gives a really unique look and you can experiment with a lot of different colours to match you own personal style.
I used the same settings for cutting 4mm plain MDF as well as cherry and oak veneered MDF.
To get a really precise fit you can set the kerf offset to around 0.14mm when cutting the inner part of the wavy section (the lighter oak piece in the frame pictured).
Most lasers will not cut the clear acrylic needed for the front of the frame so this will need to be purchased in the correct size.
When assembling the frame you will need wood glue and ideally some small clamps to old everything together while the glue sets. If you do not have any clamps available you could always use something heavy placed on top of the frame while the glue dried.
If you also make the stand, this should easily slot together without any glue as shown in the picture above.
