      Have an avid reader in the house and want to make them a personalized bookmark? This is a simple tutorial on how to make a cute bookmark.

Step1: Design

  • Create a 5" x 1.5" rectangle
  • Select object
    • outline
      • create inner outline
  • create a small circle
    • place it on the left side of the bookmark, slightly overlapping
    • select all objects and vertical center align
    • select the circle and the largest rectangle only
      • “unite”
  • create a smaller circle inside of the other circle
  • add text and stretch it to the size of the bookmark
    • stretch it so the it overlapping the first rectangle 
  • Select the smaller rectangle and text ONLY
    • click “subtract” on the right side panel
  • Select the bigger rectangle, right click, copy and paste TWO times
    • Set on to “cut”
    • Set the other to “score”

  • Auto measure your material
  • Cut your wood objects first

Cardstock:

Make sure you have it set to user defined and set your score settings. This is will cut your card stock. Use air assist if you have it.

  • I used modge podge to glue my cardstock to the back part of my bookmark
  • Apply more on top of the card stock and place the top part on top
  • Let it dry and add a pretty tassel

You can just paint the back piece if you choose to.
