3 styles of plants for a dollhouse including a window box, large potted monstera, and a flower vase
Create your flower designs.
For the large planter and the vase you will need to create a planter. Add a square to the screen. Use Vector Edit to move the points of the base closer together. If desired, make the sides curved using the edit tool as well.
Make a copy of the planter. On the copy, edit it to add a line that will go around the plant for that stem to be glued into.
For the single flower vase you will need a front and back copy of the solid planter and 1 copy of the center. For the double layer large plant you need a second copy of the inner piece.
Cut out your wooden planters and vases.
Use 3mm basswood and the default cut settings.
The flowers can also be cut from wood if preferred but I used acrylic for mine.
Use 3mm acrylic to cut out the plants.
For multi layer plants consider using different colors of acrylic to add extra dimension to the design.
Your acrylic needs to be the same thickness as your wood or thinner or you will need an extra inner piece of wood to accomodate the size.
Test fit all parts.
Sand and paint or stain any wooden parts (planters, vases, and optionally flowers).
Let everything dry.
Use glue to assemble the parts. Glue an inner part to a backer and line it up. Glue the plant into place. Add the face frame onto the vase to finish it off.
For the planter there are sides and a base part instead of a single inner piece.
