Once again the big day for all the fathers out there is coming sooner than you think....why not start making some Father's Day themed projects.
Step 1) This project starts with a huge Fishing hook, this hook is an SVG from a different software program but works with full options once in the work area of XCS. Once the hook is in place the text feature is used to bring in some lettering. as you can see the Hello starts out but can easily be edited in the edit box.
Step 2) Once the wording is spelled out and the desired font has been picked the wording is copied and pasted to make a second one.
Step 3) Now that the wording is duplicated the first set of words can be carefully place just over lapping the inside top of the hook, zooming in to see exactly helps doing this so it can be placed perfectly. Once it is in the desired location the combine feature is used to unite the wording and the hook together.
Step 4) In this step the second set of words are placed right over top the first set, again zooming in is extremely helpful for this task to line the 2 sets of words perfectly. Now that that is all set it is time to adjust the needed settings for each procedure of the cutting and engraving. as you can see the top layer of wording is set to engrave and the outside of the entire project is set to cutting.
Step 5) Once the laser did it's job cutting and engraving the project needed some paint. The hook was all that is needed to be painted as the deeper engraving gave a offset darker result which didn't need anything other than a clear sealer. Enjoy....
