Step1: Design
Preview

This time I opted for a round design. In Sketchup you can also export text as DXF, which always looks good on a sign like this if you can see raised text rather than just engraved text.

A TIP: If you cut out text with the laser, then use the border (which you then have to cut out in a rectangle or in the exact size of the base) as a positioning aid!

Step2: Cutting and personalization
Preview

In the second step, you can enter your own family name (or the name of the person you want to give the sign to) in XTool Creative Space and either engrave it or cut it out.
The font can be customized as desired.
Remember: You only use the individual letters and the border as a positioning aid (see also the cover picture!)

Step3: Individual parts and assembly
Preview

In this step, you place the positioning aid on the round background piece. You can of course color this as you wish (see cover picture). I opted for a rustic brown. The positioning aid is NOT glued on. Now add a drop of superglue to the back of each letter and carefully drop it into the positioning aid. Remember not to use too much superglue, otherwise you won't be able to remove the positioning aid afterwards.
You can also see a picture of the second XCS. file, which you are welcome to use. Once the "welcome" and then the decoration that I used. Of course, you can design your welcome sign in many different ways. Have fun creating it!
