Engraving the stainless pendant necklaces from xTool
I created 2 boxes. One is the size of the whole necklace and the other is the size of the engraveable space (under the chain).
Use this to align your design so you can see how it will look in the space and on the necklace as a whole.
I used 42 for my design. People who like a certain book know that 42 is the answer to the Ultimate Question: Life, the Universe, Everything. It's also my wedding date (10-10-10 is the binary of 42). I know, super nerdy, haha.
Set up your pendant and line it up with the camera image on your ultra.
Add in your settings. XCS would not let me put in more than 10 passes at a time so I did need to hit the repeat button several times.
Initially I started with 40 passes at 80 power and 120 speed. I did another 30 passes at 80 power and 90 speed. So this was a total of 70 passes.
A warning, be aware of what your jig is made of.
Engraving this item over 70 passes made it HOT. So hot in fact that my wooden jig has burn marks.
Keep a close eye on the machine while working and let it cool before handling so that you don't burn yourself.
The detail is great!
