Step1: Creating or Selecting Design

I want mine to be a little girly so I'm going with flowers.

I've seen them done with Jack Daniels labels, all over paisley designs, etc. and they are really cool.  The trick here is to just pick something that fits your personality.

Decide if you want the same design on both sides.  Or maybe you want to add your name to it so no one else will take it.

I settled on 70 power and 600 speed.

Initially I just did 1 pass and then repeated until I liked the effect after 5 total passes.  I don't recommend doing a deep engrave on these as you wouldn't want to compromise the integrity of the lighter.

I used the little L bracket and some tape to hold mine in place.  You could also create a jig if this is something you'll do a lot of.

Align your laser, shut the lid, and refresh the camera.

Line up your design to the image and start processing.

Remember that you can always run it again if it's too light as long as you don't move it.

I would not recommend doing this on a full lighter.  This one is brand new and has no fluid in it.

Flip over and do the other side.

Enjoy!
