Door hangers for the bedroom
We want it to have larger and easily readable font at a quick glance. I like Grandstander Bold for easy readability.
I've included 6 pre-made designs that you can use or customize as you like.
Before cutting it out another option would be to paint both sides of your wood to make it even easier to tell at a quick glance. Maybe paint one side red for Do Not Disturb and one green for Please Clean.
Or for kids' bedrooms, a Knock First in red and Condemned in yellow would also be fitting.
Set the black trivet in your machine so that smoke can easily escape during cutting. The less smoke stains the better so we don't have to clean as much from the front or back. Place your wood in the machine.
Align your laser to the wood and Refresh the picture. Set your design (I like to cut it fairly centered so there is less of an angle around the wood). I set the engrave to have a few passes to make it darker.
After you engrave the first side and cut it out turn over your door hanger so that the backside can be engraved.
Choose your design and align it in the machine. You won't need to cut this time so make sure the outline is set to off.
Engrave side 2.
Use a little rubbing alcohol on a rag to clean up any left over residue.
Seal the tag with a clear spray paint (I like a satin finish) so that repeated handling won't make it dirty or can be cleaned up.
Let the paint dry and then hang it on your door!
