Step 1) The first step for this project is to bring in a shape from the shape feature, once this shape is in the work area it is sized to the desired size. Along with the shape used Text is also brought in using the text button. The default Hello is changed to the child's name and a font is picked.

step 2) In this step after the font is picked and the name sized it is then placed along the top of the shape and set to just slightly overlap each other.

Step 3) Now it is time to copy and paste the name to make a second copy of it and the first name that is overlapped is united with the shape.

Step 4) Now it is time to place the second copy of name right over top where the first name was and to set that copy to score. Once this is done once again the text feature is used and this time the words First Day of is used it too was placed center of the main shape and set to engrave.

Step 5) In this step just a simple scored border is added from the insert button to surround the chalkboard vinyl that will be placed afterwards. As you can see the setting are then adjusted.

In this step 6 all the other needed setting are adjusted and set for the laser machine they are all a bit different for each element.

Step 7) With this step the project makes it's way to the laser and it can do it's thing, once it is all finished it was time to apply the chalkboard vinyl so it can be written on with chalk....As you can see a child may have many different first days so it can easily be changed. Enjoy.
