Engraving whiskey glasses for custom presents
Measure to determine your preferred design size.
Create a circle in that size. Create another circle with an outline with a negative number. Subtract the inner circle from the outer and set it to engrave.
Copy the circle and make it smaller to fit inside the original.
Add “EST”, the year, and “Perfectly Aged” and arrange them in your circles.
Select all of your words at once and outline it.
Select the inner circle and the outline and subtract.
This removes part of the inner outline with a buffer to make it easy to read.
We'll be engraving from the bottom so mirror the entire thing.
Select all items and combine them together. We'll want to make the engraving as efficient as possible and make it easier to give them all the same settings.
My glass was just the right size to fit between a couple slats and hold it steady. If yours doesn't fit then you can tape it against one to hold it in place.
Put a small scrap of paper or a post it on top of the glass when you measure the distance. This will let the light see the correct distance.
I engraved at Power 20 Speed 300. Yours may vary slightly depending on glass composition and thickness. If it's not enough you can always repeat the engraving if you don't move it.
Wash the glass with a soft bristle brush afterwards in case there are any shards remaining.
