Information
There will be quite a few people who had an F1 and add the F1 Ultra to their arsenal. But they already had jigs for their original F1 and would like to continue to be able to use that investment. I created a jig plate that fits on the Ultra, has a cutout to add larger jigs later, and can use the original jigs.

Instruction

Step1: Creating the Baseplate

First we need to create a plate that will fit over the base and can be held in a consistent location.

Create a rectangle that is 260 wide by 281 high.  This is a little wider than the plate so we can put notches to the sides of the back.

Create another rectangle that is 5 high x 250 wide.

Align the two rectangles horizontally and at the top and then subtract the small rectangle from the large one.

Step2: Adding Inner Jig Plates

Create a rectangle that is 220 x 220.

This will not be centered to the outer square because we want it to be centered to the focus light.  Place this at X 20 and Y 46

Create a rectangle 109 x 109. This is the size of my original jigs that fit into the F1 baseplate (such as the bracelet jig that is also in xProjects).

Step3: Placing Tabs for Easy Removal

We'll want to be able to lift jigs out easily so we need to create some side tabs.

Create an oval 20 wide by 50 high.  Create a rectangle and overlap it on the circle halfway.  Subtract the rectangle from the circle.

Put the half circle on both the left and right side of the little jig insert and the larger jig insert (4 in total).  Move the tabs on the little one to overlap it slightly (a pixel or two) and then combine all 3.  We'll leave the larger jig tabs as separate cutouts.

Step4: Cutting and Testing the Ultra Jig

Set everything to cut and use the default basswood settings.

Cut it out.  Take it over to the F1 Ultra and test the fit.  The tabs go around the back to hold it centered (3rd picture).  Your F1 jig should be centered under the lights like the first photo.

Let's test it!  Grab a jig and pop it in.  This is already paying dividends because we can use the existing jigs with the increased engraving speeds of the Ultra.
