Engraving a minimalist wallet with a design and owner contact info
Import your image
Trace the image
Some parts may not trace well. These stars were very low quality in the original image. So in that case I can manually trace it but that would take a while. I imported a star, created 50 copies, and rotated them a little to match a wavy flag.
Because this wallet has a clip on the back it's not going to lay flat in the machine so we had to get a little creative.
I clipped it onto a piece of basswood scrap that I had lying around. Then I used that larger scrap to hold it over a roll of tape that had an opening large enough for the clip to be inside. This way the wallet will lay flat for a consistent engraving
Refresh your image on the Ultra. It takes better pictures with the shield closed as too much light can distort it
Line up the design to the image. Make sure that if there will be overburn (like where the wallet has a notch in it) that there is something safe for it to burn into instead of your base plate.
I chose 50 power 100 speed 2 passes and 200 lines with the blue light (based off of metal business card settings)
It's a nice touch to add a personalization.
I included the owner's name and phone number on the back (real name and number are substituted in the file)
The same settings can be used for this as for the front
