Oh no, it’s already Father’s Day. What should I do? Oh, I have an idea! Here is a Father's Day magnet. 80/312
For this, I imported text, a heart, and a frame. Then, I duplicated the heart and made a negative outline. After making the negative outline, I subtracted it so that I only had a 4mm heart outline.
Next, I used the edit node function to remove the insides of the frame, then combined it with the heart outline. Lastly, I imported and welded the text to put on the magnet. For the text, I made sure to duplicate it. One set will be scored on so I have a reference, while the other will be cut so that I can glue them onto the score.
For the material, I used basswood so that I could glue and paint the magnet.
Now it's time to use the laser. This is a rather long cut because of the intricate details. Make sure to change the settings for your machine and don't forget your laser safety glasses.
For this, I painted the back and then glued the letters. However, beware that some are quite small and will be hard to glue. You should also add your magnet to the back of the design in this step.
You're done and will have a great way to celebrate Father's Day.
