What a Wonderful World

Select Wood:

• Choose a single sheet of 3 mm maple plywood for the front cutout pieces.
• Select a plain 5mm MDF sheet for the backing.

Gather Supplies:

• Light and dark oak stains.
• Sandpaper.
• Wood glue.

Load the File:

• Open the “What a Wonderful World” map design file in your Creative Space software.

Set Up the Laser:

• Place the maple plywood in the laser machine.
• Focus the laser and set the cutting boundaries.

Cut the Front Pieces:

• Start the laser cutting process to cut out the map pieces from the maple plywood.

Inspect and Clean:

• Carefully inspect the cut pieces and sand any rough edges.
• Clean off any residue from the laser cutting.

Apply Stains:

• Apply the light oak stain to the outermost front cut.
• Apply the dark oak stain to the inside border pieces.

Dry and Finish:

• Allow the stains to dry completely.
• Apply a clear finish to protect the wood, if desired.

Arrange the Pieces:

• Lay out the cutout pieces on the MDF backing to ensure proper placement.

Glue the Pieces:

• Carefully glue the cutout pieces onto the MDF backing, ensuring they are securely attached.

Final Touches:

• Let the glue dry completely and do a final check for any necessary touch-ups.

Mount the Map:

• Add hanging hardware to the back of the MDF if you plan to hang the map on a wall.

• Display your beautiful “What a Wonderful World” map in your home or office and enjoy the unique and artistic representation of our world.
