Place the birch into build area and turn on machine. To focus the laser head loosen the thumb screw on the left side of the head and flip the focusing tool down on the right side of the head. Move the head up and over onto the wood. The focusing tool should be resting on the surface of the wood. after this make sure to flip the focusing tool back up and tighten the thumb screw. on the computer click “process. this should open up a menu. In this menu click "framing" then press the main button on the machine. This will move the head around the perimeter of where it will be engraving and cutting. Move the head until it is in a position where it is going to engrave entirely on the board and where there are no obstructions in the way of the machine. When you are done Click “framing completed” and then click "start" this will send the file over to the machine, turn on your air assist, and start the engraving by pressing the main button on the machine. Remember to wear laser protective glasses be aware of the machine at all times and have a well ventilated space.

Wet a paper towel with isopropyl alcohol and use it to wipe the soot off from the engraving and cutting process.
