Step1: Insert Design
For this project, I envisioned a wood coaster with the outline of a white tail buck cut out and enclosed in a circle. To start working toward this design, I created an image of a buck.
Step2: Add outline
I used the outline tool to draw a vector around the outside of the image. You may want to adjust the padding to get the desired look.
Step3: Clean up outline
When I added a circle I found that a few areas protruded outside the circle. I moved the circle to a different layer, Hid it. Then I used simple shapes to subtract the area that stuck out.
Step4: Settings
The settings are for the D1 5W laser. You may need to adjust the settings for your laser configuration.
Be sure to follow all the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
