Coffee Gift

Coffee is an important first step for the day for most. With this project, create a unique gift to recognize your or someone's love for a morning brew. This project can accompany a gift of coffee beans or you could scale up the design and create wall art for the office.
The first step when I am designing a project, is to consider the size of the material I have to work with. In this case, I am working with a piece that is no more 4 inches. I kept my overall design under4 inches in height. I like to sometimes draw a simple shape on the canvas to help with designing.
If you have a S1 laser, you can use the laser to measure the material, and the software will draw a shape to represent the workspace for you.
I then Imported the design I wanted to work with. In this case I created an SVG of a coffee cup. I then removed some shapes that represented steam coming off the coffee as It wouldn't be connected to the cup in this design If I were simply engraving, I would consider leaving these.
Next, I added in some text for a simple saying. I thought it would be appealing to mix up text size and orientation. This also helps fill the available space..
Since I want the design to be cut out of the plywood, I also added in a rectangle to serve as a support for the inner part of the B. You could also use a stencil font to fix this issue within doing a cut out.
The settings are for the D1 5W laser. You may need to adjust the settings for your laser configuration.
Be sure to follow all the safety guidelines for your laser and always wear personal protective equipment when the laser is in operation.
