Information

This lamp takes traditional Chinese architectural structures as its conceptual foundation, translating architectural logic into a tangible medium of light. Rather than directly replicating historical building forms, the design abstracts and reinterprets structural languages such as beam-and-column systems, layered frameworks, and lattice construction, forming a spatial lighting object with strong architectural presence.
Structurally, the lamp is organized around a clear vertical axis and a modular grid system, emphasizing relationships between support, enclosure, and permeability. In this context, the lamp functions as a miniature architectural model—where structure defines space, and space becomes visible through light. Light is not treated as a purely functional element, but as “architectural light,” generated from within and filtered through successive structural layers before softly radiating outward.
A close dialogue is established between structure and illumination. The warm internal light source interacts with the layered framework, producing rhythmic patterns of light and shadow that enhance the perception of depth, hierarchy, and spatial order. This lighting behavior draws inspiration from traditional architecture, where light emerges in response to construction rather than decoration, allowing space to be perceived through subtle transitions of brightness and shadow.
The overall expression is restrained, calm, and introspective, reflecting the principles of Eastern aesthetics—balance, order, and quiet strength. Through controlled form and precise structural logic, the lamp operates both as a functional lighting object and as a spatial installation that carries architectural memory and cultural continuity within a contemporary interior.
This design explores a fundamental question: when architecture is no longer entered but observed, can structure and light still create a perceivable sense of space?

Step1

1、I have reserved space for the light box. You can adjust the height of the light box and the diameter of the circular opening according to the size of your lamp.

2、To improve the structural stability of the light box and keep the edges clean and neat, I chose an internal mortise-and-tenon structure for fixation. You can engrave the outer panels first and then assemble the structure.

Engraved guide lines can be added to assist with precise alignment and fixation during assembly.

3、Please remember to install the internal lampshade first before assembling the roof structure.

4、The roof structure needs to be assembled piece by piece.
