Photo frame with wood embossing - floral and love design - text personalization

For this project, I used 5mm thick wooden strips, originally sold as coasters.

I think they're pine, but the type of wood wasn't specified...

For the back of the frame, I used 2mm plywood.

To customize the text, two options are available.

1. Open the image in an image editing program and add your text in white within the hearts.

Then import this image into the program and enter the parameters available in my XCS file.

2. An explanatory video for this step is attached.

Open the XCS file, edit the text on the yellow layer, select the yellow frame and the text, and click "Subtract from Overlap." Now, place your yellow layer on the depth map of the frame. Select both layers and then use "Clip Mask." The text will then be "removed" from the image, and no engraving will occur in that area.

For the customization of the text, two options are possible.

1. Open the image in an image processing software and add your white text to the hearts.
Then import this image into the software and fill in the parameters available in my xcs file.

2. Explainer video attached to this step. 
Open the xcs file, edit the text on the yellow layer, select the yellow frame and text, click "subtract from overlap". Now come and place your yellow layer on the frame depth map. Select the 2 layers and then do "Clipping Mask". The text will then be "removed" from the image and no engraving will therefore take place there.

Remember to place the slatted panel to avoid damaging the bottom of your machine.

Now, place your image onto the wooden block in the software.

Run the framing process to check. The image should be slightly larger than your block to ensure the entire design is engraved.

Start the job.

The laser will first emboss and then cut the center. Time: approximately 2 hours 40 minutes

Don't forget to slatted the panel so as not to damage the bottom of your machine.

Now place your design on the wooden plate in the software.

Launch the frame to check. The visual should be slightly larger than your plate in order to engrave the entire package.

Get the job done.

The laser will first do the embossing and then the cutting of the center, time: about 2h40 
 

You can now cut the backing pieces of your frame from 2mm plywood.

Assemble using wood glue.

You can now cut the bottom elements of your frame from 2 mm plywood.

Assemble using wood glue.

Insert your photo (photo size 8x8 cm and window size 6x5 cm).

Position and admire!
