Use Your Photo - Personalized Valentine Photo Illusion Cube in Glass

Open the attached xcs project, and prepare your laser engraver for inner engraving. If you are using the F2 Ultra UV, attach the inner engraving riser and lens.

Add a romantic photo or image inside the heart by importing the image or point cloud into the xTool Studio project. Alternatively, add some text in xTool Studio, perhaps the initials of two special people? 

Orient the photo, image, or text inside the heart and facing the side of the heart where the tops of the ‘i’ and ‘U’ holes point.

The example shown here is a photo that was processed with Cockpit3D, which is a 3rd party service for generating point clouds from photos and is not a necessary step.

You can use the attached heart svg to plan the placement of your photo or image, or just upload an image directly into the project on xTool Studio.

There are three important things to pay attention to when preparing for engraving, especially if your cube has a cut corner (which is ideal for this project): 

1. Center the 3D heart precisely in the material.
2. Make sure the 3D heart fits and will not touch the cut corner on your glass cube (if your cube has a cut corner). In the example in this project, the cube is around 50mm on each side, and the 3D heart is 34mm per side.
3. You have to orient the cut corner of the cube correctly on the riser plate. The cut corner should be opposite the corner where the tops of the ‘i’, heart, and ‘U’ all point.

Double check your K9 material settings. A 50mm cube should take around 2 hours to engrave on the F2 Ultra UV with these instructions.
