Laser Engraved Wooden Coffee Coasters with Travel and Coffee Quotes

Download and open file with the images. Choose which design you will create. Move the individual sign or set to the processing area. Turn the output on. Choose material 3mm basswood to apply settings. Red is cut 60/27/1 and blue is engrave 30/500/1. Size the design to your liking. Decide if using wood, acrylic or painted wood. (Paint wood and let dry before cutting and engraving for quicker and easier processing.) Understand that each design has 2 options depending on what part of the design you want darker. (They are reverse images.) If you do not want to make the coaster holder you can hide and turn off output for the red outer cutting circle.

Place the material on the conveyor, slats or honeycomb and clamp down. Next, align your image on the material. Use the closeup camera to confirm your design is in the cutting area. Do the aimed measure above your design for accurate cutting and engraving. Preview image to confirm that you selected the correct designs for output and see which area of the design is being processed.

Coasters-If making coasters place painted, unpainted or acrylic in the machine and use the file on one piece of material. Follow above steps.

Signs-If making signs you will need to use two pieces of material. For this you will need to ungroup the design. You will not need the outer circle so change the output “off” and hide the layer. On the first piece you can cut the blue design layer. (Change output of red circle off ALSO.)  For my design I painted the wood first. (On this piece you can place 3m adhesive on bottom of sheet for easier assembly.) ALIGN Follow above steps.

On the second piece I changed the blue engrave piece to score lightly and the large red circle to cut(grouped them) .  For both parts preview image to confirm you are cutting the proper design. 

Hit start going through steps and watch design since you are using flammable materials.

After processing you will have 4 coasters, 4 “O” shaped circles and 1 solid circle. Place glue on one of the “O” shaped circles and attach to the solid circle. Make sure the edges lineup. Add the 3 additional pieces and clamp the design together to dry. Paint/stain sides, bottom and inside of holder if you used untouched wood. Place coasters in holder when dry.

Separate the cut pieces. Discard scraps. If you used the 3m adhesive peel the paper off the pieces. Attach to the sign placing the pieces lining up with the score marks. If you did not use the adhesive- glue each piece lining up with the score mark. Place sign on hard surface, add weight to top allowing all the pieces to adhere to back of the sign. Can drill two holes and attach string or nail in a metal picture holder to back for hanging.
