Information
This is a wooden coffee coaster, inlaid with a brass coin embossed with a design inspired by nature and coffee. It is inlaid with a layer of PU that has been engraved with a message reminding the user to "sip" coffee and "breathe". Designed with a raised edge to help keep cups and mugs from slipping off the coaster. This coaster was designed to add a level of luxury and relaxation to the daily cup of coffee.
Instruction
Step1: Emboss the coin
Place the blank coin into the machine. Align the design onto the coin. Apply the following settings to emboss the design:
Laser type: Fiber IR
Layers: 256
Power: 100%
Speed: 625 mm/s
Pass: 1
Lines per CM: 200
Engraving angle: 75
Apply the following settings for the clean-up phase, set to “engrave”:
Laser type: Fiber IR
Power: 20%
Speed: 4000 mm/s
Pass: 3
Lines per CM: 200
Process the coin.
Step2: Cut the wood
Place desired wood into the machine. Align the cut design onto the wood. Set to "cut" with the laser set to “blue light”. Pick material and apply stock settings. Process the wood.
Step3: Process the PU leather
Place the desired PU leather into the machine. Align the design. Select the material to apply the desired settings for each “engrave”, “score”, and “cut”. Process the PU leather.
Step4: Assemble the coaster
Align pieces with the full circle on the bottom, the large circle with the coin-sized hole in the middle, and the thin circle on the top. Glue pieces together and clamp. Once dry glue the coin into the coin slot in the middle. Once dry, glue the PU leather into the base. Once dry the coaster is ready to use.
